Determination
Determination can often turn a failure into a success. There are many ways to accomplish the same goal. If one way doesn’t work, try another until you find one that does.
Even though determination is vital, there needs to be another source of motivation. In my case, I have a hard time with self-motivation. My success depends on the belief of the people around me. I can’t really do things for myself. I need to de doing them for someone in order to feel any degree of satisfaction.
Determination can turn a failure into a success; the incident that comes to mind was in the early days, when I had such a hard time doing everything; I was making such an effort to make things work, and meet these over-idealized expectations I’d set for myself, that the universe somehow aligned itself so that everything went wrong.
The look of disappointment in Ms. Kinlan absolutely killed me; I’d failed her expectations, and marred the good word Percy had put for me.
Still, I was determined to prove her that I was worth her time, and that I was serious about things, which I did, and after I managed to lower my expectations and be realistic about them, things played out much more smoothly.
Thoughts for the Week:
Many people make the mistake of assuming that giving up control also means giving up responsibility. No matter what the situation, a slave shares equal responsibility for any consequences, either good or bad, that occur as a result of consensual activities.
I completely agree with the first statement. Giving up control does not mean giving up responsibility. If anything it means acquiring double, maybe even triple the responsibility of your the person.
Focusing on service the way I do, my job could be described as Ms. Kinlan’s valet; I’m in charge of absolutely everything. I need to make sure things in the home are running smoothly, and that they get done. When we have someone helping in the home I’m to overview their work to make sure it’s to Ms. Kinlan’s liking. If it’s just her and myself, I am expected to do everything: pet care, meals, laundry, cleaning, etc.
Comments:
There is a strong power that can be gained through surrender. It is not a power that comes from manipulation or passive-aggressive control over another person. Instead, it is a peaceful, internal power that fills the heart and soul of the slave who recognizes the pleasure that quiet obedience gives to an owner.
Giving myself to my Mistress mind, body and soul in utter surrender is probably the thing that makes me the strongest; there is a fulfillment in being able to submit to someone so deeply, to willingly depend on someone so greatly and not consider one’s self weak or pathetic for it.
It warms my heart to know I’m able to make Ms. Kinlan’s life easier and fulfilling through my service to her. I need her guidance and find myself happy and content through obedience.
Writing Assignment #1 Role Models
Name three fictional characters who would be good role models for an aspiring slave and explain why.
Prince Tristan from The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty is the only one who comes to mind.
I haven’t read the book in ages, but I do recall very much aspiring to be like him, given his total surrender and eagerness to please. While Beauty questioned and rebelled, and Prince Alexi surrendered only because it was easier to obey than to be punished, Tristan enjoyed serving Stefan, found himself fulfilled through serving him, and really did love him. He craved his Master’s love and attention and despite the technically non-consensual nature of their relationship, Tristan couldn’t rebel, because he’d found the one Master who could truly dominate him, to the point where not serving was not an option, given it would be going against his nature.
